Factors affecting Solubility; Solubility of v Solid in Liquid v Gas in Liquid v Liquid in Liquid Solid in Liquid: When Solute   is in solid form and   solvent   is in liquid form and then solid dissolve in the liquid. Factors: o    Nature: If Nature is Same, solubility is good. E. g.- Polar solute in polar solvent. o    Surface Area:   If surface area of the solute is more, solubility increases. o    Temperature: When we dissolve solid into liquid, two reaction occurs à §   Exothermic:   Heat releases for dissolve. §   Endothermic: It absorb heat for dissolve.   Gas in Liquid: When solute is in gas form and solvent is in liquid form. -          Nature does not affect the solubility. Factors: o    Surface area: Directly proportional to solubility. o    Temperature:  ...

Terms of pH The 'p' in pH stands for "potenz" meaning "power" in Danish. Since the scale was given by a Danish Chemist Sorensen.  H stands for Hydrogen and is its symbol. Hence H is written in capital letter.

“She would forget our brief encounter”- Who said and about whom? What is the ‘brief encounter’ referred to here? Why did the speaker think so?   Answer: In Ruskin Bond's 'The Eyes Have It', the narrator said "She would forget our brief encounter" and here 'She' is referred to the girl companion. The lively, light-hearted conversation between the narrator and the girl regarding the beauty of the hills of Mussoorie in October and about the view of landscape from the train’s window between Rohana and Saharanpur has been described as the brief encounter. When the speaker informed the girl that her station will arrive soon, she felt quite relieved. On the contrary, the speaker was ready to sit in the compartment for any length of time just to hear the girl talking. The journey that was cherished by him was of little importance to her. This differing emotion made the speaker feel that the girl would forget their brief encounter.

SPRAY DRAYER   Principle: ü The feed solution consisting of dispersed core in coating solution is sprayed through an atomizer (produces fine droplets) from the top of the spray chamber. ü As the liquid feed moves downward, it interacts with circulating hot air. ü Thus solvent present in droplets gets evaporated, as a result of which dry microcapsules are formed. ü Drying is achieved in a very short time i.e., even before the droplets, reach the bottom of the drying chamber (usually 2-3 seconds). ü Spraying the droplets of sufficient smaller size and subsequent interaction with hot air is the important step in whole process.   Construction: ü Spray dryer consists of a spray chamber and a separating chamber (cyclone separator). ü They are interconnected by means of a narrow pipe. ü An atomizer is fitted at the top of the spray chamber which sprays the feed as droplets. ü An inlet for hot air (or gas) is present at the top. ü The entire ...
